SUMMER LEARNING!

Avoid summer learning loss and join our Summer Learning program!

Tutoring during the summer is critical, especially to a marginal student it's their time to catch up, or get left behind. A student can focus on one subject without the competition for time from other subjects. During the summer is the best time for remediation and interventions which means taking student back to previous concepts or grade levels to reinforce or enhance those skills they missed the first time around.

Bridging The Gap.
Summer is the loss in academic skills and knowledge over the course of summer vacation. A common finding across numerous studies is that on average, students score lower on standardized tests at the end of the summer than they do at the beginning of summer (on the same test). Summer loss for all students is estimated to be equal to about 1 month, but this varies across subject matter.

*Mathematics- 2.6 months of grade level equivalency loss.
*Reading -  Varies. Low income students generally lose about 2 months of reading achievement. Middle income students experience slight gains in reading performance

Studies show that students who tutor at least 2-3 hours a week during the Summer either meet or exceed standards when they arrive back to school in the fall.
